Hello Students and welcome back to the school! I am very happy to say hello again to you and to see that you have spent a very nice summer and you are taller everyday! I just hope that you are happy to start a new course and that you are willing to learn English ;). Hello 6th graders!

In order to practice the grammar for the exam, here I designed a game where you have to complete the sentences with the correct form of the verb like, taking into account if it is positive, negative or a question and the person. You have to complete the verb with the form -ing of the correct verb, too. To complete, press the lines, write the words and press OK, when you finish press CHECK and you can see your results.

5th grade: My favourite city.

Hello 5th graders, Here you have the text about my favourite city, I hope it is useful for you in order to write your own text. As I said before, one of my favourite cities is Berlin, so my text is about this amazing city

BERLIN.

My favourite city is Berlin. It is located in Germany, Europe. It is a very big city. It has got about 3,400,000 inhabitans. The rivers Havel, Dahme and Spree run through Berlin. I like Berlin because it is a very cosmopolitan and historical city. In Berlin, there are many restaurants, museums, parks and important buildings. Popular places to visit are the Siegessäule, it is a column with a sculpture of Victoria on the top; the Reichstag, it is the German parliament; the Opera House and the Brandenburg Gate, it is one of the main symbols in Berlin. My favourite place in this city is Berlin Wall, Berlin was divided into West Berlin and East Berlin after World War II. After the Berlin Wall was built in 1961 very few people were allowed to cross from East Berlin into West Berlin. The wall divided the city until 1989 when the East German government decided to allow anyone to cross, and people decided to destroy the wall. Nowadays, it is a symbol of freedom and people painted beautiful and peaceful graffitis on it.

MY BEDROOM

My bedroom is not very big, but I really like it. Everything in it is white and red. I have many books because I love reading before going to bed, but I don't have comics, I don't like reading comics. I have a lot of pictures of my friends because I like going out with them. I have an amazing photo camera becasue I enjoy taking pictures. I have a very big wardrobe because I love clothes and I like going shopping. I have a very big computer to work, listen to music and watch films, I love listening to music and watching films. I also have two motorcycle helmets because I always travel by motorcycle. I have drawings that some pupils made to me because I like remembering them.

5th Grade: Animals world!

Hello boys and girls!

We have started a new unit where we will talk about weird animals and we will learn new things about them. Here I propose two different activites where you will learn about animals.

The first activity that I propose is that you take a look at the web page of National Geographic about the weirdest animals in the world (animals that are very, very strange) and choose one of them and tell me why you like this animal (comment on the blog or bring me a paper to class).

For example, I like the Yoda bat because I think has a very funny face.
To enter the web press the strange animals!
The second activity is a game where you have to answer a Quiz about dangerous animals (animals perillosos)! Tell me how many points did you do! Press the image to enter the Quiz.

6th Grade: Description of a famous painting

Hello,

For Friday 3rd February, you have to make an oral presentation about a famous painting that you like. You can talk about the Author (his/her life, curious aspects, when did he paint the it? etc.) and about the painting (style, what does it represent?) and the most important thing is that you have to tell me what can we see in the painting using There is/ There are.

In order to give you some ideas, I attach a video that I found in Youtube with 10 of the most famous paintings, with their name in English and the author's name; of course, you are free to choose another one that you know.

5th and 6th grade: The Fonix!

Hello boys and girls!

We are taking part again in "The Fonix", an English Competition between Catalan schools. This competition has different stages:



Local Stage: Pupils will pass a test inside the school. (One representative of each grade)
Territorial Stage: The representatives choosen by schools will pass a test inside their area. (Barcelona, Lleida, Girona i Tarragona)
Final Stage: Final test with the winners of each area.

During these weeks, we are going to do the Local Stage in our school. I encourage you to review everything you know and prepare your tests. I wish you good luck! If you want more information about the competition press "the Fonix logo".
